The unique initiatives by the Turkish retail outlets of İnci GS Yuasa, Türkiye's largest* battery manufacturer, make an impact in the sector during the Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
İnci GS Yuasa, a joint subsidiary of İnci Holding and GS Yuasa, took a pioneering step in the sector through voluntary public health initiatives as part of the Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Retail outlets from different provinces of Türkiye, particularly in Malatya and Elazığ, participated in a factory visit wearing pink ribbons in a bid to contribute to raising awareness on the importance of early diagnosis and on the fight against breast cancer.
Gökçe Yılancıoğlu Tellici, Corporate Communications and Marketing Manager at İnci GS Yuasa, stressed that voluntary efforts had a great significance for public health. "Although we operate in the automotive sector, which is dominated by a male workforce, this substantial, self-motivated initiative by our dealers shows the extremely high social responsibility awareness of our stakeholders. It is vital to raise awareness on diseases that can be cured following early diagnosis, which saves lives. We always own, support and encourage social responsibility activities that focus on saving and protecting the lives of living beings."
Supporting this meaningful movement, İnci GS Yuasa also organized an online seminar through its Occupational Health and Safety Unit to increase the health awareness of its employees and their families. In her seminar, Prof. Hülya Yurttaş Pirinççi shared comprehensive information about the importance of early diagnosis in breast cancer as well as self-examination methods.
